Welcome to the Sussex Christian Camps website! We have been offering well managed camping holidays since the 1980s for children between the ages of 9 and 13 years, and more recently for young people aged 14 +. We charge very reasonable prices, which are kindly subsidised by Sussex Churches & individual Christians. Camps are part of Sussex Counties Evangelism and are run by a group of experienced leaders. Campers are carefully supervised at all times both on and off site. The Camp Evangelists speak each day, after breakfast and at Rendezvous, on the Bible and Christian truths. We usually camp under canvas on a farm site at Whitesmith, off the A22, near Chiddingly, East Sussex, and provide lively outdoor holidays with many different types of activities. The range of activities varies from camp to camp but is carefully selected for the age group concerned. This year however we will be using a new site just a hundred yards along the road with brand new facilities, so if you've never camped with us before then this is the time to join us! Particular attention is paid to providing a balanced diet of well prepared nutritious food. For the sweet toothed there is also a tuck shop on site. The on-site facilities include electric power, a permanent kitchen meeting today's high standards of hygiene, flush toilets and hot and cold washing facilities. Campers' pocket money can be safeguarded by use of the onsite banking facility. We operate a Child Protection Policy, some details of which appear later in the application form. Parents may ask to see a full copy of this policy before or on arrival at Camp. We look forward to seeing you/your child(ren) at camp. Our mission statement: Sussex Christian Camps' mission is to provide children and young people with good quality, reasonably priced activity holidays (mainly under canvas) for Bible teaching, with strong emphasis on the basics of the Christian Faith in action. |
